This section offers direct access to all the extant eighteenth-century collections we have identified to date. Given the large number of collections, we have devised a new set of identifiers (sigla) that are more readily intelligible:
Manuscripts: location + volume number, or shelfmark, or the name by which it is most commonly known (e.g. Venice 13, Barcelona M1964, London Worgan)
Printed editions: name of publisher/editor + volume number where applicable (e.g. Essercizi, Boivin 3)
For each collection there is:
- A dedicated page (accessed by clicking the siglum in the table below) with basic information and a chart showing the distribution of keys in that collection;
- A dedicated Google Sheet (accessed by clicking the link in the right-hand column) containing the full variant analysis for each sonata (one tab per sonata) in that collection.
If you know the siglum of the collection you are looking for, you might like to use the Quick Filter to narrow down the results.
